New Sickle Combo with Compact Hori Hori

I was loaned one of these. It was the best garden weeder ever - had to buy one. Service and delivery very prompt. Would highly recommend this business.

Finally had a chance to start using this to weed. I live on sand - not at the beach, but ancient dry river bed. THIN layer of soil on top, then sand. Grass clumps always seem to grow where you don't want. With rains, more like a blanket in my flower beds.

Previous method was to use a garden trowel to slide under the weeds from the front, pushing underneath a clump, work it around, lift up a bit, shift to another clump, then pull the weeds up. With this sickle, started from the right and moved left, angling the blade into the ground, then pulling towards me. SL (shift left) and repeat. Leaves the clumps unattached from the soil underneath. Simple pick up, shake loose soil, into bin. Very fast work. For taller clumps, with deeper roots, simple to wedge the sickle under the clump, pull towards me, and out comes the clump. Shake the loose soil off the roots, clump into the bin, and repeat. Just like using any sickle, except this was cutting under the growth, rather than cutting on top. Through thin soil, through sand, cut, cut, cut, like a knife through butter. BIG plus: allows you to get all the roots.

Quality looks great but as to whether it is fit for purpose, I can't answer that.

I saw someone on YouTube gardening in Japan stating a way to save your knees is go use a good quality hoe. I googled and found this and it is incredibly easy and takes the impact rather than my body. I have hard clay and it ploughed through the weeds like it was made of butter, so impressed. highly recommend.

I absolutely love this. I have trouble kneeling, & this tool allows me to remove really tough weeds from a standing position. So strong yet light and manoeverable.

I really like this tool for weeding.
My only gripe is there is no left handed version available. The serration is on the wrong side of the blade.
I can work around it but it’s not ideal .
Sorry but if there was a left handed version, i would give it 5 stars

Of all the garden tools I own, this is my all time favourite. Beautifully made, light and well balanced. Clever design makes it so versatile- for weeding, tilling soil, edging, planting. I already have one but I’m getting another just in case I lose the first 🙀

Perfect for 1 handed soil cultivation. Edges are quite sharp and will remove weeds if dragged along soil sideways. Point is also sharp and will dig into ground easily. Worth a purchase if you don't have anything like this already

This tool is a must for anyone combatting small fleshy weeds.
It’s shape,strength, and smooth sharp steel make eradication of the toughest weeds a piece of cake. It cuts through large thistle bushes with ease and hooks into the fleshy stem just below the surface making chemicals look silly! With this tool results are instant and the joy using this tool is something else. A tool similar with a longer handle would be great as well,, this tool is excellent for weeding, and also terrific in small garden areas such as vegetable plots for soil cultivation, planting and weeding.
