Written by renowned Australian Mokuhanga artist Terry McKenna, this book constitutes the first extensive explanation that we are aware of outlining the fundamentals of woodblock printing and tool sharpening in English.
Sharpening a carving knife, which is a problem for many experienced printmakers, is analyzed from Terry's calm point of view.
There is also a section for Michihamono's original sharpening machines "Mini High Care" and "Diamond Care", and Terry came all the way to our company to cover this section. There may never have been a book that explained sharpening in such detail!
Terry currently resides in Karuizawa, conducting classes and residential study courses. Since completing his studies under Kyoto-based Mokuhanga master Richard Steiner, he has taught extensively in Japan, in Australia and internationally.
