Very good quality Japanese rasp. Japanesetools never disappoint when it comes to quality tools.

While this item is small, it certainly makes up for that when in use. Rather than having many mini cutting edges like western Rasps, this has a layer of half moon cutting edges each covering the full width of the tool. This allows the Rasp to literally shave the wood from where you want it removed. This allows a greater degree of control and less of an area which needs to be sanded. Great little addition to any Woodworkers kit.

Every guitar I build I use my razor rasp on. It allows fine fitting of neck tangs that gives a smooth and accurate finish.

I don’t need to use sandpaper as the finish is perfect.

Having used dozuki saws for some years while boatbuiding I had a great admiration for their ease and precision but this new saw was a revelation. Puts my expensive English gentlemen's saws into the shade. Not a saw for big work but brilliant for precision guitar and mandolin work.

I am a guitar builder and this rasp has become a favorite tool. I just love the feel and balance and the way it can remove material and leave almost no marks.

The JTA tool kit is highly recommended.

Recently bought a number of Rentetsu chisels made from 100 year old anchor chain. They are full of character, beautiful pieces of art. But, after tuning, they are also wonderful sharp tools that are an absolute joy to use! Highly recommended.

Have never seen these before, they are like rasps but leave an extremely smooth surface. VERY useful, I plan to buy two more (the round and the half round). Now I would not use them for most of the work, just the finishing, but for that + widening wooden plane mouths etc.. very useful. Highly recommended.

When I test used these files at a recent wooden boat show in Sydney, I was astounded by their efficiency and the subsequent finish. A truly remarkable tool with infinite applications! I've bought the standard flat and 1/2 round, give them a try, you wont be disappointed.
