Toyo Steel Toolbox Y-350 Hip-Roof is a traditional Japanese toolbox. Whether you are a professional tradesman or a crafty enthusiast, the storage applications and uses for this beautiful toolbox are endless.

In 1969, Toyo Steel manufactured the world's first seamless steel toolbox. Ever since, Toyo Steel continue to manufacture their toolboxes to be simple, sturdy, rugged and yet beautiful.

The Hip-roof toolbox is Toyo Steel's classic design. Able to accommodate more than should fit in it's main compartment, the handle settles flat when not in use and the clasp can be locked with a 4mm padlock.

Awesome TOYO toolbox

These tool boxes are awesome. Can take a small padlock. Built to last a longtime. Packaged well in cardboard only. I cut the cardboard down to make a liner for the inside of the box. The camber top does not tip over as easily as the flat top which is great. Makes a great present for kids first tool box, keepsakes, petty cash tin or toolbox. It's great to buy a tool box not made of plastic and not from the Big box store ;-)

Beautiful finish, excellent craftsmanship. Holds a good amount thanks to the lid shape.
I recommend adding the liner so tools don't clang on the base.

Great toolbox to store your basic kit for portability. Can comfortably fit a hand plane, chisel, hammer and a takedown ryoba saw - along with all your measuring and marking tools.

Beaut toolbox

I've been admiring these for some time but the promotion run by JTA made me pull the trigger. Feels like something from another age. The packaging, the simplicity of it all. But the build quality is really nice. The latch is quite smooth and yeah the whole thing comes together nicely - really I'd expect something like this to cost more than $58 in this day and age.
I'm not too crazy about the silver colour. I thought it might have been unpainted metal, but it's painted silver. Shoulda got moss green.
Regardless of that I liked it so much I bought another (in moss green).
