Double Arm Marking Gauge

Description

This simple marking block uses a carbon steel blades and Japanese white oak body. Designed to cut two repeatable parallel marking lines.

The two blades that slide parallel to each other and are secured with a nut on top of the tool, are removable for sharpening.

Positioning of the fence is adjusted with a screw locking mechanism.

As long as corresponding reference faces are used, a set of mortices of matching widths can be marked out quickly and identically using this ingenious tool.

The upset over offset removed.

New to joinery and chiselling my way to an understanding leaped forward with this marking gauge. Creating accurate cut lines repeatedly (well twice) in my first exploration of this tool’s usefulness was very rewarding. Image to follow when my work is worthy of public view. Highly recommended for those who highly motivated to improve their marking.
