Product review

My first overall experience with the saw/rasp very sharp which means very clean lines and makes short work especially on mahogany/maple ,... I luv these tools

Shinto Saw Rasp

The Shinto Saw Rasp is one of the best rasps I have ever used. I work mostly with very difficult hard wood species such as Bulloak and red gum, known for their hardness and tear out during hand planing or other surfacing. This rasp is easy to use and offers great control during operation whilst removing heaps of material at the same time.

Great wood file

Great product. Ideal for cleaning up dovetail extensions. Fine and medium is all you need. I ground the teeth smooth on the pointed ends and that eliminated scratching of the flat surface

Medium and Fine rasp

Wow what a pleasure to use. It gives a great result on both the medium and fine sides with the minimum of effort. I am considering getting the companion coarse version

Invaluable

These Shinto rasps are really useful. I hav owned the coarse/medium for a while and this medium/fine adds another level of refinement to finishing. I have found it particularly useful for fine adjustment of chair leg ends and difficult to plane areas. Good value.

If you know, you know.

After watching other people getting fantastic results from their Shinto saw rasps I finally bought one for myself and all of the love these tools receive is completely justified. The medium/fine rasp quickly and cleanly removes coarse marks and aids in shaping material but doesn't get clogged up like a file can.

Shinto Saw Rasp

I recently purchased a fine/medium Shinto Saw Rasp. I live it! The medium side removes wood quickly and easily. The fine side is also quick to remove material and also leaves a good finish when taking very light passes. This is a great addition to my tool arsenal. No hesitation in recommending this tool

Shinto Saw Rasp

I saw it being used on You Tube, and decide I needed one too. It is a well designed and very effective rasp which does not clog up like my old ones do. A worthwhile purchase if you appreciate quality.

Shinto Rasp

Love it. I used it to ease the corners of a toddler kitchen helper just last week. It removes material fast and leaves a pretty decent finish that i clean up with a spoke shave.

Shinto Saw/Rasp

An excellent tool fast removal of bulk material. I am using it for shaping guitar necks and find that it saves me a lot of time.

Brilliant

I've only had a chance to test it out on a small piece of Aussie buloke (hardest word in the world) and it just effortlessly removes excess timber. I find it leaves a slightly rougher finish than the shinto rasp (fine) but is much better suited to the more intricate shaping.

Shinto Saw Rasp

These are wonderful rasps. Coming in three grades, fine, medium, course, I was impressed how efficiently they removed material from a billet of wood, for guitar making, the three grades give you the perfect progression for finessing the carving of a guitar neck. Love them.

Warping of Shinto Saw

Overall the Shinto saw works well but I am very disappointed that it warped near the first cross support closest to the handle on my first use. My use was not very heavy so I would expect that a tool like this could withstand normal use.

Excellent

The blade is amazing; it's like using a razor. However, after only a few short uses I've had some teeth break.
