Kenshi Tume Stainless Grip Scissors

Regular price $165.00

Description

The claw style blade of these Kenshi Grip Scissors are ideal for cutting threads. The short, blades provide clean, cuts make sewing a breeze. Not only sharp the smooth light spring reduces any fatigue even with long hours of use.

Currently, there are only a few craftsmen in the world who can make hand-held scissors using the so-hizukuri method (a traditional method in which heated iron or steel is hammered without using a mold, and the thickness, shape, and other aspects are all created by hand). Kenjio Terasaki is one of them, who handcrafts each of these beautiful snips.

Iron and steel are heated in a flame of about 1,000 degrees, hammered together with a hammer, and the shape is also shaped with a single hammer, without using pre-existing composite materials. Joining iron and steel is an extremely difficult technique, so these are not mass produced, but instead it is possible to manufacture scissors with a fine attention to detail, such as the strength of the spring, the grip, the comfort of use, and the shape.
