Description
The first tailor’s scissors imported to Japan during early Meiji period were re-designed for the Japanese, and became RAXA scissors which went on to become the prototype for the modern tailor’s scissors.
These beautifully crafted shears are made of high quality hardened Yasuki Hagane white paper steel. The blade is hand finished by the blacksmith and guarantees a superior cutting edge.
These fabric scissors are recommended for detailed work or cutting shapes.
The Yoshioka family has been in the business of producing high quality tools since 1946 when the founder Mr Kihachi Yoshioka was a manufacturer of dressmaking scissors. Today the company is now a third generation business operated by Takashi Yoshioka.
Blade : 73mm
Overall length: 190mm
Material: Yasuki-hagane -refers to a family of traditional Japanese high-carbon steels, using iron sand refined in the Shimane Prefecture, a process with centuries-old roots in sword making. Renowned high-carbon varieties include Shirogami (White Steel), prized for its purity and ability to achieve a very fine, sharp edge favored by sushi chefs, and Aogami (Blue Steel), which adds chromium and tungsten for enhanced durability and longer-lasting sharpness.
