Hand-forged Kamisori - Blue Paper Steel, Tsuchime Finish

Hot off the forge and beautifully presented in a calligraphied paulownia box, this gorgeous kamisori is an exquisite example of Japanese smithing craftsmanship.

Traditionally shaped with large single bevel and hollow-ground back, Tomita-san has chosen blue paper steel (aogami #2) for this razor's cutting edge. This will afford it greater resistance against rust and patination, as well as allow the super-fine bevel to hold a great edge with reduced vulnerability.

The head has been treated to Tomita-san's classic tsuchime (hand hammered) and silvered finish, while the handle retains the raw black finish straight from the forge.
