Description
A sliding bevel (also called a bevel gauge or false square) doesn't measure to a fixed angle - it lets you capture any angle from an existing surface or drawing and transfer it exactly to your workpiece. That makes it essential wherever the angle isn't a clean 45° or 90°: dovetails, roof and stair pitches, angled joinery, or scribing to an out-of-square wall.
This Shinwa bevel is made in Japan from lightweight aluminium, with a smooth-sliding blade and a locking knob that holds your set angle firmly without slipping mid-transfer. The matte finish cuts glare so the scale stays readable under workshop lights, and the extended arms give you a longer, more stable registration surface than a typical hardware-store bevel.
Available in 30cm, 45cm, and 60cm. Pick the length that matches your work: 30cm for bench-top joinery and detail work, 45cm as an all-round size, and 60cm for large-panel or framing layout where a longer arm keeps the angle accurate across a wider span.
