Plane Scraper

Adjusting Japanese plane soles can require taking very small amounts of timber from the sole in a focused and controlled way. While this can be done with several different tools, this scraper fits beautifully in the hand and allows very precise adjustment.

This tool has a "front" and a "back", with the burr of the factory fresh condition left attached. This allows it to take a little more timber in the style of a Western scraper.

The burr can be retained or removed as per your preference.
