‘Urasuki’ is a technique to shave inner blades to create a slight hollow. The gap created between two blades enables to the blades to move efficiently for sharp cuts even in the presence of some resins and plant sap.

Although these shears can cut through branches of 10mm when they are placed close to the pivot point, they are happiest trimming and pruning lighter, leafier stems.

Their long handle makes this pair an excellent tool for those gardeners with tall ornamental shrubs, as they increase the reach of the user.

Like all gardening tools we recommend blades are cleaned with a solvent (such as Yanipika) and wiped with a lubricant such as Cameilla oil before putting away.
