Description

The result of using these fine wood files is that they will leave a finish comparable to a hand plane finish due to their amazing cutting ability. These files are different to other rasps and files. They are unique as their teeth are milled into the surface of the file to create hundreds of curved blades. The result is that your material is shaved off and not removed by scratching (leaves shavings).

The Japanese White Oak handle ONLY can be purchased separately for $4 if required.

Wood File - Half Round 150mm - White Oak Handle

While this item is small, it certainly makes up for that when in use. Rather than having many mini cutting edges like western Rasps, this has a layer of half moon cutting edges each covering the full width of the tool. This allows the Rasp to literally shave the wood from where you want it removed. This allows a greater degree of control and less of an area which needs to be sanded. Great little addition to any Woodworkers kit.

Japanese wood file

Having used dozuki saws for some years while boatbuiding I had a great admiration for their ease and precision but this new saw was a revelation. Puts my expensive English gentlemen's saws into the shade. Not a saw for big work but brilliant for precision guitar and mandolin work.
