Description
Nagatsu-san's beautiful dozuki saws are the most exquisite examples of this style that we have used.
Hand peened, set and filed, the teeth are a high quality high carbon steel.
Nagatsu-san's high gullets have been carried over from his larger saw patterns. Although most teeth are filed for cross-cutting, each of the large gullets are followed by a single rip-cut tooth. This clears the chips from the path of the saw, keeping cuts fast and efficient. It also allows for this saw to be used for rip cuts.
Nagatsu-san's distinctive hammer marks add or relieve tension in the saw plate, minimizing it's movement as it is pulled through the cut.
Finally, the rattan wrapped hinoki handle is comfortable to hold.
