About Sori Yanagi

Born in 1915, Sori Yanagi was one of Japan’s most influential product designers. His iconic works include the Butterfly Stool, permanently exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York; the Elephant Stool, used at the 1970 Osaka Expo; and his celebrated stainless steel cutlery, which won the Good Design Award in 1974.
