#1000/#6000 Combination Cerax Water Stone

Works a treat, couldn’t ask for better

I’ve tried a number of other stones over the years. Cerax stones produce a thoroughly sharp edge. It’s a must!

Guys, this was the first sharpening stone I've ever purchased, but even I can tell it's a quality product. Using it was easy and cooking with the freshly sharpened blades has been a breeze. Not to mentioned the sharpening itself is such a calming experience.

Seen great reviews online so i decided to get it, and true enough it lived up to the expectations, super solid sharpening stone and very glad i got this specific combination for a pair of expensive knives.

This was a gift for a friend ……. not yet given, but I know he will love it. He has a hand forged Chef’s knife from Japan to use it on!!

This has finally brought some life back into some knives that have been very neglected. I have a sharpening steel, but nothing like a stone to bring that zing back to the knife.
It's a very OCD method to sharpen your knife, but strangely, it is also very therapeutic and you end up loosing track of time when you have more than one knife to sharpen. But the end results is quite impressive.

I purchased this combo as my entry level into Japanese Water Stones, I had used sandpaper on glass until then. After half an hour getting used to the feel and realising I did not need to push the blade through the stone to get a good result, I have not purchased sandpaper again. Great saving there alone.. If you are starting out and want a great stone that will last a long time, I would highly recommend this one. Maintenance is easy either on a piece of sandpaper on a flat surface or a diamond plate to keep it flat, (takes literally 30 seconds or less) and you will be taking super fine shavings with chisel or plane, works great on the kitchen knives also.

Great whetstone, super happy with the results and quality

Sorry, I am disappointed with this product. The 6000 is much too coarse and there is little discernible difference between the 1000 and the 6000. My 4000 King brand stone gives a much finer scratch pattern and a much sharper edge. The plastic case and stand make it very convenient to use. I would not buy this product again.

All the items I've ordered from JTA have been of the highest quality, and the shipping times have also been very good.

Have not used a wet stone before, results are fantastic.

Firstly, I am new to waterstones. However, I bought a #320 and the #1000/#3000 and #1000/#6000 Ceraxes for what I felt was a complete sharpening package with a double up on the #1000 as I felt this would get the most use. I was not disappointed.
The #1000 does a great job of ensuring a razor sharp edge, with the #6000 providing an almost mirror quality finish.

Stone feels great, gets my hand tools razor sharp. Finish on a strop with honing paste after and mirror shine. Feels denser that the King stone I was using before

I have used other waterstones, however these are far better quality. Fast cutting and a great finish. They come true and flat.

Just got to use this Cerax waterstone from Suehiro, I got combination #1000/#6000 and it fits my needs perfectly, the base is sturdy and slip proof making it a pleasure to use. Now down to business…..for 45 years or so I have always used Arkansas stones and thought I got a good edge with them. Well, I have been blown away with how easy I can get a shaving sharp edge on my knives, the old stones are now retired.
The service provided by Japanese Tools was quick and effortless and the stone was shipped and received in good time and order.
Oh yeh, I also bought the Suehiro 1000 dressing stone and I think it really makes the stones work better.

As yet I can't comment on quality as these are Christmas presents, but they did look excellent. I'm most impressed with the site and look forward to visiting regularly. I purchased the full sharpening kit and this stone setup is awesome. My chisels have never moved as easily as they do now. Highly reccomen and get the full kit off JTA while you’re at it

Just started my sharpening journey ... and this kit is above and beyond. Kitchen knives are sharp and bench chisels have been revived. Happy with my purchase and will look at a few additional stones to compliment my kit as I hone my skills

The whet stone was is excellent and the cradle it sits in was better quality than most.

Slightly disappointed as I presumed they would have been the same dimension block as the single grit of same brand
