Beginning with the #3000 grit stone, the Cerax range enters the realm of honing and polishing. A polished finish can be achieved with a steady hand and flat bevel on the #3000, and if the back has been well flattened, the edge should be able to take hair.

Hi, this stone, along with the cerax #8000 and a #3000 nagura was a birthday present to myself having only recently started taking wood work and joinery techniques seriously and i could not be happier. I just broke in my new 3000 grit Cerax water stone to put the final edge on a vintage "Ouchi" Ori Nomi (Bench Chisel). This stone really is bliss to use I find it much harder than my old 1200 grit King stone. It now makes me want to get the 1000 and 6000 grit as well. The design is fantastic the casing and base make it really stable to use. Thanks to Christian and the team for another fantastic product.
I really recommend this product for any one wanting to get a truly razor sharp edge.

3000 grit sharpening stone.

I have used the stone a number of times for putting the final polish when sharpening plane blades. It gives a superior finish to that attained with black arkansas. I I haven’t had to level it yet but I expect that will be easily achieved on a diamond hone which I bought from you some time back.

A brilliant intermediate stone

This is a brilliant intermediate stone I use between 1000 and higher grit stones. It provides great 'feel' and is a real pleasure to use. With its stable base and included nagura, it's an unbeatable package in my view. Add in JTA's super-efficient service and you can't go wrong. Thoroughly recommended.
