The Complete Sharpening Kit 1000/6000

Love that JTA stock a plant-based option, rather than a petro-chemical based oil. I use it for everything, hedge shears, secateurs, the clippers I use on the dog!

Bought a bottle of the Camelia oil to lubricate the secateurs that my SO absolutely loves. They do that job well but the real win has been using this oil to lubricate my electric shaver. In hindsight it’s kinda obvious that having a plant based oil on your face will be preferable to machine oil!

I use it on straight razor blades (carbon steel), on tools like knives, planes, anything with a steel blade for a protective film between uses. Highly recommend

I’ve tried a number of other stones over the years. Cerax stones produce a thoroughly sharp edge. It’s a must!

I use this for my swords and it is a nice clean oil that works well. Better than choji oil in my experience

Have used the camellia oil on my Ouchi bench chisel set. Have had them for about 29 years. They had some very faint surface oxidation. The camellia oil has dealt with the rust and turned it into an inert black spot.

Guys, this was the first sharpening stone I've ever purchased, but even I can tell it's a quality product. Using it was easy and cooking with the freshly sharpened blades has been a breeze. Not to mentioned the sharpening itself is such a calming experience.

This has finally brought some life back into some knives that have been very neglected. I have a sharpening steel, but nothing like a stone to bring that zing back to the knife.
It's a very OCD method to sharpen your knife, but strangely, it is also very therapeutic and you end up loosing track of time when you have more than one knife to sharpen. But the end results is quite impressive.

I have found that the camellia oil keeps the bed of my lathe looking like new and no sign of rust. I am impressed.

I purchased this combo as my entry level into Japanese Water Stones, I had used sandpaper on glass until then. After half an hour getting used to the feel and realising I did not need to push the blade through the stone to get a good result, I have not purchased sandpaper again. Great saving there alone.. If you are starting out and want a great stone that will last a long time, I would highly recommend this one. Maintenance is easy either on a piece of sandpaper on a flat surface or a diamond plate to keep it flat, (takes literally 30 seconds or less) and you will be taking super fine shavings with chisel or plane, works great on the kitchen knives also.

Great whetstone, super happy with the results and quality

Sorry, I am disappointed with this product. The 6000 is much too coarse and there is little discernible difference between the 1000 and the 6000. My 4000 King brand stone gives a much finer scratch pattern and a much sharper edge. The plastic case and stand make it very convenient to use. I would not buy this product again.

All the items I've ordered from JTA have been of the highest quality, and the shipping times have also been very good.

Have not used a wet stone before, results are fantastic.

Firstly, I am new to waterstones. However, I bought a #320 and the #1000/#3000 and #1000/#6000 Ceraxes for what I felt was a complete sharpening package with a double up on the #1000 as I felt this would get the most use. I was not disappointed.
The #1000 does a great job of ensuring a razor sharp edge, with the #6000 providing an almost mirror quality finish.

Stone feels great, gets my hand tools razor sharp. Finish on a strop with honing paste after and mirror shine. Feels denser that the King stone I was using before
