The Toyo Steel Two-Stage Toolbox is a masterclass in thoughtful design. It features two top trays that cantilever open for full visibility and access to your tools, along with a spacious main compartment below. Each upper tray includes removable steel dividers, letting you customise up to five compartments per side for optimal organisation.
With hinged lids that open independently and a lockable clasp (fits a 4.8mm padlock), your gear stays secure and easily accessible whether you're in the workshop, at a job site, or on the go. Pressed from a single sheet of steel, the toolbox is tough yet sleek—ready to hold everything from delicate craft tools to everyday hardware.

I’m in love.
My partner finds me lurking on the page looking at the colours.
Seriously, the build quality and the colours are too good.

This is a brilliant toolbox. Am using it to store all my whittling tools and honing stuff. Knives from Sweden & Japan. I purchased the red one as it brightens my day each time I use it. Fantastic.

Incredibly well made & love the removable dividers for top tray compartments. I e always wanted one & finally got it. Now I want another.

These are design classics for a reason, they are quite simply a textbook example of the beauty of form meeting function.
Function:
I was a little concerned they might be heavy even when empty, but they somehow manage not to be, without compromising build quality in any way. The centred handles also distribute the weight in a way that feels ergonomically and mechanically sound.
These are going to last forever. Unlike every metal toolbox I’ve seen or bought elsewhere (whatever the price), the folding mechanism is smooth and silent out of the box. Sure, you can “just” oil the others, but you shouldn’t need to until it’s been used for some time - years, even - because creaking isn’t just an annoying sound, it’s metal being fatigued. Other boxes will likely have failed in those creaking places before the Toyos show any such signs, even Toyos that aren’t maintained well.
Form:
The attention to detail shows even here. It seems a simple thing to choose to make the white colour way (beautifully, minimalistically) matte, when others are gloss, but it’s an extra cost in manufacturing most companies wouldn’t consider, even at this price point.
5 stars, without hesitation.

I love quality, things made to last that work well, and these toolboxes are just that. So, when I say it is the first and last one, I buy it is because it will last and serve its purpose for a long time to come... Oh I will buy more as the need arises of course. This is quality and at a very good price and from a very good retailer who has never disappointed me with the products that they sell.

I recently purchased not just this blue box but two other smaller ones as a package to give as a present to one of my sons. I was very impressed with the quality and appearance of these items, and so was my son. They are so good to behold and a pleasure to use that I fear one or two boxes might be appropriated by my daughter-in-law, who sees an additional use for them to store items for her sewing work!

beautifully made and well designed. I have filled mine all the beautifully made tool I have purchased

Another quality toolbox from Japanese Tools. This is my third TOYO box. Great for storing my small carving tools and projects under completion. Always happy with service, postage times and good packaging for my purchases from JTA.

Awesome gift for my bf, he loved it! It was sturdy, the perfect size and amazing quality, especially for its price.
