These beautifully crafted Japanese secateurs are ideal for general garden use, especially pruning small branches, flowers, and houseplants. Each tool is hand-forged and sharpened using traditional methods, making every pair subtly unique. The handles are bound in premium tan leather and waxed thread, adding tactile comfort and timeless elegance.
Designed to fit comfortably in hand, the cowhide leather provides a secure grip and will naturally patinate over time with exposure to the sun, sweat, and sap—creating a rich, lived-in texture that tells the story of your gardening journey.
Made by Toyama Hamono, renowned craftsmen of shears and secateurs since the 1860s, these tools are drop-forged from high carbon steel and finished with a beautiful convex edge. They come in a boxed perfect to store away.
Care and Maintenance
Not suitable for cutting deadwood, hardwood, or wire. Never sharpen the back of the blade. After use, wipe the blade with a solvent/lubricant to prevent sap build-up. We recommend Yanipika and camellia oil for maintenance.
