The SunChild Japanese pull-saw with universal teeth is an excellent all-purpose woodworking saw.

Ideal for fine work such as dovetails and tenons. The saw features a metal spine back which gives the saw very accurate straight cuts. It is a good saw for both soft & hard woods, for plywood, acrylics, & laminate board too.

The teeth are impulse hardened which makes the blade tough & durable for prolonged life & wear. The blade also can be removed when/if needed to be replaced.

The handle is made of wood, wrapped in traditional Rattan for a comfortable grip.

Specifications:
Universal Toothing
Blade length 240mm
Blade thickness 0.3mm
Pitch 1.3mm
Set 0.1mm per side
Maximum practical cutting depth 45mm

Fantastic!

I bought the Sunchild Dozuki to do some accurate tenoning and dovetailing in Purpleheart, given that Gyokucho's literature says that it's good for ebony. This saw does not disappoint! Smooth, accurate and fast cuts.

my first serious saw

the saw is very beautiful and sits nicely in my hand. i have only used it once so far. takes a while to get used to it. i expected it not to need so much push as in videos it always looks effortless....
a beautiful clean cut.
i am very pleased. i may need to get the rip saw one and a flush cut as well.
thank you for your friendly and helpful advice.

Best value saw

This is the first Japanese saw I bought over fourty years ago now. Still have it, still use it and it's one of my favourites. The teeth are great for cross-cutting and ripping. Perfect dovetail saw.
The teeth are tough and forgiving where Dozukis have to be handled with much more care. Perfect introduction to Japanese saws without the fear of breaking and bending teeth.
I'm on my fourth replacement blade now. In the past I shamelessly abused previous blades cutting and trimming through glue etc. I have no idea how those blades stood up to it and kept going so long. Brilliant saw.
