Tasai Bench Chisel Set - 10pcs

Tasai-san's work never ceases to amaze. This set of chisels features a flat black finish that eschews the ornamentation of his Damascus finishes, yet retains the same classic lines, phenomenal edges and gorgeous attention to detail.

These chisels use Tasai's famous bespoke Aogami (blue paper) steel for supreme resilience. Although the white oak handle and black head are understated, they are also beautifully done with all the touches expected of such a beautifully crafted set.

The necks are gently swept to clear your work when paring, only fouling once the wooden handle itself reaches your stock.

The laminations are crisp and precise. The top of the heads has a gentle scallop. The hollow-ground backs feature only a single ura. 

Finally, both the ferrule and hoop are faceted and the white oak handles straight and tight-grained. All this is can be presented, stored and treasured in a beautiful Paulownia box with Tasai's calligraphy on proud display.
