Gikoh Ryoba Saw 240mm

7 Reviews
$48 AUD

'Ryoba' is the Japanese word for double edge. The double sided Gikoh Ryoba pull Saw made by Kakuri lives up to its name. It's a double sided blade and features one side for ripping and the other side for crosscutting. The comfortable rattan handle features quick leaver action to change the replaceable blades.

You will not find a better designed handle on the market. The mechanism to hold the blade is unique in that it is streamlined to eliminate any change of the latch getting in the way of your material. Unlike some other saws on the market, the Kakuri Ryoba's Latch will always keep your blade straight and secure. The blade cuts easily and straight on both sides in many types of timber.

Specifications:

Japanese Tools Australia is an environmentally conscious company and we endeavour to eliminate plastics in as many parts of our business as possible. Your purchase will be shipped in recycleable non-plastic materials, and we re-use cardboard and paper wherever possible in our shipping process.

Exceptions to plastic-free policy:

Unfortunately, we are required to dispatch some express items in pre-paid satchels and in such circumstances we have no choice but to use a plastic satchel. Please keep in mind these satchels are 100% recyclable. Our suppliers also use plastic in their packaging of some products, and we do not remove these protective measures before shipping. We are considering strategies to eliminate these two remaining sources of plastic in our shipping process. As many of our items are hand-made, they do not arrive to us or to you with extraneous packaging, though this is not the case for all of our products.

Breakage in shipping policy:

We pack our shipments in specialised materials to ensure that our customers find them in the same condition that we send them. If you receive your products in a damaged condition, please email info@japanesetools.com.au with your order number and photos of the condition of the products within a week of collection. If an item is deemed to have been damaged in transit we will replace it with like kind at no extra shipping cost to the customer.

If you are unhappy with the condition of your product and it has not been damaged in transit, please refer to our returns and exchanges policy.

We stand behind the quality of our tools. If a tool is found to be faulty or damaged in transit, we will verify the issue with you, and offer a refund or exchange when the problem is brought to our attention within 30 days from purchase. If problems arise outside of this period this policy will apply at our discretion. Where a refund or exchange is agreed upon, we will mail you a paid addressed bag to return your items, verify their condition once we receive them, and then process a refund or mail the new item.

If a tool is purchased as a present or the purchaser changes their mind, we will exchange for stock of equal value or store credit when we are contacted within 2 weeks of the purchase. We ask that the customer covers the cost of shipping in these instances. We will take a payment for shipping over the phone, send you a paid addressed envelope, verify the goods' condition once we receive them, and then mail the new item.

If a tool is damaged through improper use, we encourage you to contact us. We may not be able to exchange the tool, but may be able to offer advice on technique or recommend a more appropriate tool. Where possible, we encourage our cutomers to ask us questions about our tools' use before they purchase them. We can be contacted at info@japanesetools.com.au or 02 9527 3870.

Sorry, we can't exchange gift cards.

Great product

Bought this as a present for someone who’s been wanting one for a while. Surprisingly sturdy handle, the blade is also nicely flexible. Easy to assemble and comes with a plastic case for the blade. Comes nice and sharp, and visibly clean cuts! Would recommend for a first time pull saw

Will never use, let alone buy, a western style saw ever again

Probably the most efficient, accurate, precise wood cutting device I’ve ever held. It’s my very first Japanese saw, and I dare say it won’t be the last. It’s not the most expensive (far from it) on the market and I’m no fool, it’s probably not the absolute best either. As a self-taught hobbyist, I’m also far from being the best at woodworking. But what I’ve been able to achieve after only half a dozen practice runs would be unrealistic task using any western style tool. Thanks guys We’ll do business again

Good saw

Excellent cut. My first Japanese saw and I already prefer it over traditional western saws. It's probably the best saw I own and it's two in one with the cross cut edge and rip edge. Works well in soft wood and hardwood. Impressed.

Gikoh Ryoba Saw 240mm

Very impressed with the ripping blade, not so impressed with the cross cut blade. Having both is handy even if just for ripping because the finer set of the cross cut makes a good starting cut. Thought it would be useful having both blades potentially in play. I have another Japanese saw with multiple single blades and they work better for cross cutting. For the price thought it pretty good value.
