I've been a needle worker all my life. The Sashiko Kaki-no-hana is so beautiful. It allows me to learn different techniques & to create something different.
Such a simple thin little knife, but razor sharp and hasn't left my pocket since it arrived. Perfect for those small jobs that seem to pop up hourly from opening packages to trimming the casing off electrical wire. Call me old fashioned but the brass "case/handle" suits this type of knife perfectly.

Hori Hori-the best tool in the shed! So versatile, fabulous for weeding, planting, cutting and many other uses. Must have tool, I take it with me when out in the garden. Ideal gift.
Maybe these shouldn't be the first secateur someone purchases, because we tend to thrash the first tools we get because we don't know what we are doing. But after we learn how to respect, maintain and utilise the tool, this secateur with its superb craftsmanship, will be the last and only.
