This stone's versatility is further enhanced by the fact that it's flat back can be used to sharpen regular carving knives and other more conventionally shaped edges.
Suehiro has formulated their multiform stones to be very hard, as this maintains the shape of the profiles in the face of the stone. To keep it cutting efficiently, an eraser is provided to clean the stone should any steel from your edges become embedded in it.
