Profile Gauge (C), 200mm

Used to capture complex profiles that need to be scribed into a mating piece of timber, this 200mm wide profile gauge by Shinwa is an incredibly well-made example of it's kind.

It's 1mm stainless steel pins conform to any shape when pressed into it with hand pressure, and stay firmly in place as the resulting profile is traced or marked.

Commonly used in Japanese carpentry to scribe the bottom of vertical pillars to sit perfectly on natural stone foundations, this gauge also dies a fantastic job of transferring period moulded skirting or architrave.
