Shinwa Rules Co., Ltd. was formed in 1971, when three measuring-tool makers, Watanabe Doki Seisakusho, Hanyu Keiki and Watasei Doki, merged in the Tsubame-Sanjō region of Niigata, a centre of Japanese metalworking for centuries.
Shinwa has focused on accuracy from the start. It patented a calibration method for stainless steel rules in 1977, gained ISO 9001 certification in 1999 and became a JCSS-accredited calibration laboratory in 2001. The company opened an office in Dalian, China, in 1991 and a branch in Illinois, USA, in 2007.
Shinwa is now Japan's top-selling maker of metal rules. Its squares, rules, sashigane, marking gauges and levels are used every day by carpenters, metalworkers and makers who need measurements they can trust.

Not sure which guide you need?
Compare every Shinwa circular saw guide by the cut you want to make: square, rip, any angle or full sheet.
Find your guideThe Shinwa 30cm L-Angle Fit Circular Saw Guide is a longer, more stable squaring guide for trimming stock to length with any circular saw — corded or cordless. Two reference points spaced 200mm apart give the guide a broad, steady bearing against your material's edge, so it holds square even on wider boards or sheet stock where a smaller guide would rock or wander.
An extra 50mm of guide extends back toward you beyond the material, giving your saw's base plate a wider surface to register against before the blade ever touches the timber — so you get a true, repeatable 90° cut, first try. It's built for the classic left-hand-guide, right-hand-saw grip, and its solid aluminium body is sized to take daily job-site knocks without losing accuracy.
Designed in Japan by Shinwa, manufactured in China to Shinwa's specifications.
