Hangi To Woodblock Carving Knife
Description
Description
The Hangi-to is a cornerstone of the block printmaker's toolkit, and we are proud to offer these exceptional specimens of this important tool. The Hangi-to is often used in the initial cutting of a design into a wood block, however it's fine point makes it extremely versatile.
Handmade with HSS laminated edges, our Hangi-to have edge durability beyond compare. We know of no other manufacturer in Japan or the world able to work with HSS at such fine bevel angles, and the results produced with these materials are phenomenal.
These Hangi-to are available in 3mm, 4.5mm and 6mm widths (measure across the width of the blade, edge to edge) and as left-handed and right handed variants.
Overall length: 130mm
Handle length: 110mm
HSS Laminated Blade
Cherry Handle
The handed-ness is decided by location of the bevel in the same way as a kiridashi - a right handed model will have the bevel on the outside of the body when held in the right hand, while the left handed model will have the bevel on the outside of the body when held in the left hand.
Hangi To Woodblock Carving Knife - 4.5mm / Left is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
