Shinto Saw Rasp - Coarse/Fine with Interchangeable Handle

$58.00

Description

This Shinto saw rasp is the number one selling rasp in Japan.

It is made by using multiple saw blades joined together in a diamond configuration, which is clog resistant. Designed to remove wood on the push stroke, the second handle, which is located halfway down and centred above the blade, allows greater pressure to be applied to the material.

The blade can easily be rotated to use either the coarse or fine side, allowing for fast and efficient removal of material.

This rasp is suitable for flat and curved surfaces, general shaping and the removal of materials such as wood, soft and composite materials.

Teeth: 10 TPI coarse, 24 TPI on the fine side.

Blade length: 250mm

Overall length: 370mm

Why did I wait so long?

I have been using western style rasps for 60 years. I don't know why I wasted so much time. Sure they do a fine shaping job, but they are nowhere near as fast as this Shinto. For first up waste removal and shaping of guitar bodies this is the best and quickest.
