This beautiful carver's chisel is manufactured with an extremely sharp bevel angle thanks to the excellent metallurgy of it's laminated HSS edges. This edge inherits HSS's durability and strength, but thanks to it's lamination is able to be manufactured at an angle we have not seen from any other manufacturer.
The profile of this u-gouge is the flattest of the 3 different sized radiuses in this model range. The radius of this U-gouge is extremely subtle and could be confused with a flat tool from more than an arm's distance. It is excellent for blending and transitioning surfaces, or adding interest to surfaces that would otherwise be flat.
It's handle is beautifully made from high quality hinoki (Japanese cypress) and is designed for use with hand pressure only (not to be struck).
