These Watoji Japanese book bound Note Pad with a bookmark are handmade by artist Furmie Matsumoto of Yuzuan Studio. Whose philosphy is to pay special attention to the paper-making method and raw materials used. Like the long established practice of paper artistans, Yuzan Studios use only locally grown plants and materials for their washi. This paper is produced in Ogawa region in Northwest of Tokyo, from an industry dating back to the 8th Century.

The cover is hand dyed Sumi dots. High Grade Kozo (paper mulberry) with sunset hibiscus. Arum root paste is applied as a coating to the Washi as a traditional and nature-friendly method for reinforcement and water-resistant
